Tara thanks for trying but i couldn't access the notes from our chat either.
I think the question we discussed went something like this....(kim)

"how do astronauts get to work?"

The task description says...
"craft a question which students will explore (the questions must relate to another curriculum area- not ICT) (kim)

Hi Kim sorry I couldnt access it either not sure how to save it the first save was just the whiteboard sorry. Hopefully we all can start together this week to find out the info. In answer yes this was the start of our question. I believed that we were using science by exploring space travel and linking the use of ICT through areas like literacy, math, art and technology Does this sound right.?

If this is our question what do we want the students to learn from it exactly? Alternative transport methods? How rockets work? What do you all think? (Fiona)

I think I must be in SPACE as I have interpreted this a little differently I thought we were doing a topic related to earth, the solar system and the planets I will need to rethink what I have written any suggestions would be appreciated Mxo

I think the solar system is a good idea because within this topic is how we find out about the planets etc, the use of rockets, distance and relative size of planets etc, the students interpretations of space could be done by electronic pictures using software like Kid Pix/ Paint etc. What do you think? {Fiona}

I'm not feeling confident about our question right now, i agree with Fiona what do we want our students to learn from our current question?
if we go with the solar system could our question be something like... "what makes up our solar system?" or "what do we find in our solar system?"
This is all very new to me as i don't see or hear the teachers at my school plan like this. My students have very different lessons and units of work (if any) I will have to follow your lead on this one, sorry. (kim) Hello Kim, I like the suggestion of 'What do we find in our solar system?' Mxo Hi guys I too like "What do we find in our solar system? Fiona This could lead to discussions about what the students already know, we could introduce the planets by using a web site. go into art exploring the planets, leading to how we find the planets, telescope/rockets/astronaut findings. Introduce the hubble telescope/Nasa, show rockets taking off to visit telescope etc, see astronauts in space, weightlessness, distance of planets etc, play some interactive space games-literacy. what do you think?the last lesson students could produce a powerpoint on their learning and findings.
